ITUMÒ : EXPLIQUER, CLARIFIER ET TRADUIRE L’AFRIQUE POUR MIEUX LA CONSTRUIRE
Le nom Itumò, qui signifie « Explication – Clarification – Traduction », résume à lui seul la philosophie de cette nouvelle institution.

Pour ses promoteurs, l’Afrique ne pourra pleinement réaliser son potentiel qu’à travers une meilleure compréhension de ses propres réalités.
« La trajectoire de l’Afrique doit être expliquée avec rigueur, assumée avec responsabilité et traduite en actions concrètes au service des sociétés africaines », telle est la conviction qui anime cette initiative.
DR MOUDJIB DJINADOU : UNE EXPÉRIENCE INTERNATIONALE AU SERVICE DE L’AFRIQUE
À l’origine de cette vision se trouve le Dr Moudjib Djinadou, universitaire, auteur, conférencier et expert international reconnu.
Titulaire d’un Doctorat d’État en Droit international public, il a consacré près de trois décennies de sa carrière au service de l’Organisation des Nations Unies, où il a exercé d’importantes responsabilités dans les domaines du maintien de la paix, des affaires politiques, de la gouvernance, de la prévention et de la résolution des conflits.
Après une brillante carrière internationale, celui qui a pris une retraite anticipée a choisi de mettre son expertise, son expérience et son réseau au service des générations futures africaines.
Selon lui :
« J’ai fondé l’Institut Itumò pour inspirer les générations futures à prendre en charge les défis de l’Afrique et à contribuer au progrès du continent. »
Une déclaration qui traduit toute la dimension intergénérationnelle de ce projet, fondé sur la transmission du savoir, le renforcement de la pensée critique et la construction d’une Afrique davantage maîtresse de son destin.
UNE CÉRÉMONIE DE LANCEMENT À LA HAUTEUR DES AMBITIONS DE L’INSTITUT
Le lancement officiel d’Itumò a réuni un public particulièrement distingué composé de personnalités du monde diplomatique, académique, institutionnel et du développement.
La présence remarquée d’anciens responsables et collègues du fondateur au sein des Nations Unies témoigne de la crédibilité internationale du projet et du respect dont jouit son initiateur. L’événement a notamment enregistré la participation de personnalités éminentes : Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Saïd Djinnit et Maman Sidikou, tous anciens Secrétaires Généraux Adjoints de l’ONU ; Amadou Diongue, Représentant de la CEDEAO au Bénin ; et Raouf Mazou, Haut Commissaire Adjoint du HCR, venus soutenir cette initiative porteuse d’espoir pour l’avenir du continent.

- MOUDJIB DJINADOU: INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE IN THE SERVICE OF AFRICA
At the origin of this ambitious vision stands Dr. Moudjib Djinadou, an internationally respected scholar, author, lecturer and strategic affairs expert.
Holding a Doctorate in Public International Law, Dr. Djinadou devoted nearly three decades of his professional career to the United Nations, where he held senior responsibilities in peacekeeping operations, political affairs, governance, conflict prevention and conflict resolution.
Following an outstanding international career and opting for early retirement, he chose to dedicate his expertise, experience and global network to Africa’s future generations.
According to Dr. Djinadou:
« I founded the Itumò Institute to inspire future generations to take ownership of Africa’s challenges and contribute to the continent’s progress. »
His statement perfectly captures the intergenerational dimension of the project, which is built upon knowledge transmission, critical thinking and empowering Africa to shape its own destiny.

Among the distinguished personalities attending the ceremony were Mahamat Saleh Annadif, Saïd Djinnit, and Maman Sidikou, all former United Nations Assistant Secretaries-General; Amadou Diongue, ECOWAS Resident Representative in Benin; and Raouf Mazou, Assistant United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, all demonstrating their support for this promising initiative dedicated to Africa’s future.
